Q - What size are the brownies?
A- Each squidgy finger is around 7.5 Cm x 2.5 Cm and the heights vary depending upon the topping.
Q - How do I know which flavours are which in the box?
A - There is an insert with photographs in each box and as every brownie topping is different they are easily recognised from the pictures.
Q - I am being really thoughtful and sending these as a gift (brownie points).
What if I want to add a personalised message to my present... Is that possible and how much extra is it going to cost me?
A - Good news! We can provide a personalised service and even better news we don't charge you any extra for a hand written sentiment.
Just type your special message in the box that comes up when you add the product to the basket and we'll do the rest. You might be getting Tartan Rocket brownies delivered to yourself so that you can write the message then hand deliver them as a gift or a thank you. If you don't want to leave a message you can just leave it blank or type no message.
Q - How does the build your own brownie box work?
A - Just think of the box as being made up of 4 quarters. There are 16 fingers in the box, just add the required flavours in the comments box when ordering and choose a maximum of 4 flavours, for example If you wanted 4 different brownies just type - 1 x orange 1 x banana 1 x lemon 1 x raspberry white choc along with your message (type anything you like, we'll just write as you've typed it).
Q - Can I choose 2 quarters of the same flavour in the build your own box?
A - Yes of course you can, it's your box. Just type the flavours you fancy into the
comments section on your order. If you only want 2 types then type 2 x biscoff 2 x cookies and cream. if you are unsure just ask, once you've done it once it'll be easy for future orders.
Q - What if I want to buy a BYOB box and I also want to personalise the insert?
A - No problem just type them both into the same notes box that pops up as enough space has been allocated. Just remember to do that before you go to the checkout. Don't worry if you forget and hit pay before it, we'll do our best if you just email in to orders@tartanrocket.co.uk and quote your order number plus message then we'll add that for you.
Q - Which ingredients do you use?
A - We are chefs and we know that by keeping it simple and only using a handful of quality ingredients is the recipe for success. We support local farmers and suppliers using British, Scottish and fair trade ingredients wherever possible. Always free range eggs and butter from Britain, Fairtrade sugar and couverture chocolate from sustainable cocoa farms supporting the Cocoa Horizons Foundation.
Q- What texture are Tartan Rocket brownies?
A - There are some brownies that are quite cakey and heavy but ours are really soft and squidgy.
Q - Do you add palm fat to your brownie recipe?
A - We only use butter in our base brownie recipes, no palm fat added - sustainable or otherwise. #PalmOilAlarmCall
Q - Do your brownies contain any allergens?
A - All of our base brownies contain the following allergens there may be additional allergens depending upon the topping;
GLUTEN (Wheat) - in the flour
MILK - in the butter
EGG - free range hens
SOYA - in the chocolate
We do not use tree nuts, peanuts or sesame as an ingredient but as we are a bakery and handle many different products, some commodity labels state that these ingredients many contain traces therefore we don't claim to be a nut or sesame free site.
The allergens per product are listed in the product section although if you are purchasing a mixed box then class them as potentially containing the all bakery allergens listed below as it's likely to transfer to other brownies in the box. If you have a serious food allergy then please be aware that any of our products may contain traces of the allergens listed below.
Q - Which allergens do you handle within the bakery either by buying the ingredient in or in a product which may contain traces so must be included in this list?
A - Gluten (Wheat and Oat), Egg, Milk, Soya, Celery, Sulphites, Mustard, Fish, Sesame, Peanuts, Tree nuts.
Q - Are you brownies suitable for vegetarians?
A - Yes they are all suitable for Ovo-Lacto vegetarian diets.
Q - How long will my brownies last?
A - About five minutes if the feedback we've had is accurate!
The brownies are best stored in an airtight container as there aren't any preservatives added to our brownie recipe however they will be perfectly fine for up to 14 days. They can be wrapped up and frozen for up to three months. If you like your brownies warm and even squidgier, why not microwave each one for no more than 10 seconds and serve with ice cream.
Q - Is it OK if I tag you in a post on social media?
A - Of course, we would love you to! On Facebook, Instagram and twitter we are @TartanRocket. We're always interested to see any serving suggestions and dessert creations. Remember to tag us and share your post using the hashtag #TartanRocket.

QUESTIONS ABOUT POSTAGE AND PACKAGING
Q - How much will postage be?
A - At first we thought we would offer a couple of different postage price levels of postage to suit different budgets. We did an experiment with several different companies, some promising next day delivery and others would take up to three days.
We found it frustrating that some would overpromise and underdeliver when three days turned into 5.
We want to send the product to you as soon as possible after being baked and boxed and want it to be as fresh as can be so we opted for next day delivery on everything, for the sake of saving 2 quid on the price of postage.
We are just trying to give you the best balance of value and quality we aren't adding
any extra on top just the price Royal Mail charge it's £5.46 per box of 16 brownie
not per order.
Q - What happens if I want to order more than one box, is it dearer for postage?
A - The postage for one letterbox parcel is set at cost price of £5.46 per box for next day tracked delivery* as all of the packaging is designed to just go through your door. If you need a bulk order of more than one box just get in touch and we'll see what we can do for you on the postage cost although you'll need to have someone at home to sign for the parcel or collect at your local pick up point but yes we can, just send a message through the contact us form before you place your order.
Q - When will my order be delivered?
A - Well that depends on when you lace your order if you get your order into us by 12 Noon Monday to Friday then we will post on the same day with tracked delivery for the next day.
If you order after 12 Noon then it will be posted out the following day.
If you order on a Saturday or Sunday we will ship it out on the Monday
so you'll get it on Tuesday. If you order on a bank holiday weekend then the parcels don't get picked up on Friday or Monday we'll post it out on Tuesday and you'll get it
on Wednesday. There aren't too many times this happens throughout the year and the courier has now added a disclaimer that it may be two days and not next day so please allow as much notice as you can. Just place your order and tell us in the order notes the date you would like your bronies to arrive to the recipient.
Q - Where do you deliver to?
A - As a general rule we deliver to Mainland UK. If you have a letterbox then our courier can deliver straight through it which is convenient as you don't need to be in or if you are being super nice and sending them as a gift then you can keep it as a big surprise as you don't need to tell them to wait in for a parcel coming. Who doesn't love a surprise! We have posted to the Stornoway and the isle of Tiree and the brownies arrived in 2 days rather than 1 day when we posted them on a Monday afternoon, they got there on Wednesday.
If you are not sure whether we can deliver to you just get in touch with us, using the contact us form before you place your order.
Q- Oh no! I've put the wrong delivery address in but I've paid for it. Is it too late to change the recipients address?
A - We aim to post your order the same day for orders placed before 12 Noon Monday to Friday sometimes we can still post out the same day for orders placed in the afternoon, before we collate orders and start to package them up. If you notice what you have done then phone us on 0141 952 9666 straight away and we can easily sort that out for you it's no problem. All we ask is that you contact us through the number provided and we can react to it immediately. We're busy baking so we don't check Facebook often, communication through Facebook won't help us to turn around a problem that needs sorted immediately. You can phone or email orders@tartanrocket.co.uk and we'll fix it all up for you.
Q - Do you have an idea what time will my delivery arrive?
Royal Mail tells us that they will deliver anytime before 6PM but remember it's Tartan Rocket letterbox bakery so we can just post it through the door. There's also a tracking number facility so that you can keep tabs at each stage. They usually arrive at around mid-day and the latest delivery we've had was mid afternoon.
Q - What if my delivery hasn't arrived?
Royal Mail from our experience are pretty reliable and we've never had a parcel go astray as yet but there is a tracking number . If the item has been delivered to the address that you provided but you've entered the wrong address then we can't be held responsible for that sorry :(
Q - Can I leave instructions of a safe place (e.g. enclosed porch/out of sight from passers by) or with a neighbour?
A - Yes just add to your notes when placing the order and we can notify the courier. Flexible delivery options are available - including Safeplace and Delivery to a preferred neighbour if you supply us with a mobile telephone number when placing your order.
If you do choose to leave your brownies with a neighbour make sure that you trust won't be tempted to eat them.
Q - What if my parcel doesn't arrive?
A - That's one of the brilliant things about tracked delivery, we can both see everywhere it's been and each parcel has a tracking number.
if you let us have your mobile number and email when placing your order we can add that to your details and you'll be kept informed throughout.
Q - Is it possible for me to post some brownies to a loved one abroad or in
HM Forces either at home or overseas?
A - We can't promise that we can deliver everywhere but we'll try our best to organise that for you. The postal prices vary quite a lot depending on location but we'll post at cost price. Send in an email using our contacts page, giving details on location, required dates and quantity etc. but make sure you leave plenty of time for the parcel to arrive please.
Q - Can you deliver to a Hospital or care home?
A - Yes we do this all the time. If a loved one is being cared for by medical staff we can post to anyone and write a personalised message into the A6 card (about 1/4 the size of an A4)
Q - Wait, I don't have a letterbox, can I still order Tartan Rocket Brownies?
A - Don't worry if you don't have a letterbox, of course we can still deliver and all parcels are tracked so we know when they have been dropped off., you can even say - stick it behind the red plant pot at the side of the house or whatever you want and we'll just add into the notes.
Q - What packaging will my brownies be delivered in?
A - The brownies are packed into a quality branded Tartan Rocket letterbox bakery presentation box. The box is lined with branded greaseproof and includes a flavour guide with photographs. The box is delivered to your requested letterbox in a protective box so that your brownies reach you in perfect condition.
Q - How should I dispose of the packaging?
A - Everything can be recycled.
Q - Are there any precautions I should take for my Tartan Rocket delivery?
A - Well, we must mention this just to be on the safe side. As a responsible pet owner the last you would want to do is harm your awesome animals, so just remember that they might try to get stuck in to the brownies if they can access the mail. Who could blame them, if my sense of smell was 10,000 times stronger than a human I'd be trying to get into them too! Chocolate is toxic to pets so just please be aware.
